Mike's Next Adventure

Its Thursday we have made it into Paris. It is also Bastille Day, France’s national holiday. So far we are enjoying ourselves. Denise found a nice lunch to eat. Thanks again to Paul and Laurent for their hospitality.

We visited the small German village today. It’s about an hours drive from Bech and a favorite of ours. Here are some pictures.

Sorry I haven’t blogged in a day. Yesterday was spent relaxing and shopping at the Cactus. Denise trimmed the boxwoods and I fixed Paul’s printer problems, as we are trying to earn our keep. Denise’s parents arrived yesterday evening. We picked them up at the train station in Luxembourg. They were troopers and stayed up until after ten after a very long journey. This morning we are not sure what we are doing, maybe a ride to Trier or Bernkastel.

Good Sunday morning from Luxembourg. Saturday was very relaxing. Paul and Denise did the grocery shopping, Most of the day was spent relaxing and reading. We did attend a village fair on Saturday evening. Bech-Kleinmacher puts on it’s annual “Grill-fest”. We were able to sample some of the local food and wine. It was interesting because the village has only about 200 habitants.

Good morning from Luxembourg, our home for the next week. We did get to see a good amount of Lyon yesterday. See pictures below. Lyon is the second largest city in France after Paris. It has a more modern feel to it then Toulouse. It is a very walkable city, except for the steep walk up to he cathedral. We left that for our next visit to Lyon. We did get some pictures of it from afar.

My camera lost it’s charge this morning, so there won’t be many pictures of Lyon. Here are some from my phone.

It’s 11:30 PM Thursday night. We got into Lyon a couple of hours ago and just finished dinner. We spent the early part of the day touring Toulouse. Then we made the 5 hour drive here. We will site see tomorrow, before heading out to Luxembourg. Hopefully we will arrive in LUX tomorrow evening. Here are some picture of Toulouse. We visited 4 cathedrals today.

Here are our first few shots of Toulouse. Haven’t yet gotten to see much, but had a nice dinner and a leisurely stroll back to the hotel.

It was sad to the see the coastline go. We did get one last stop at a seaside village called Cotlliure. It is on the French – Spanish boarder. It had a cool fort, we walked around and had lunch. We are about to head out to explore Toulouse.

We are off to Toulouse today, it is a 4 hour drive. Cadaques has been very nice. It’s a perfect place for a summer retreat. The weather is starting to get warmer here, but the air is very dry. Must drink lots of water.
